FAQ about the high chair
Operation, benefits, materials, sustainability: These are the questions KRAABE is frequently asked about the high chair.
The high chair is made by people with disabilities at the SILEA Foundation in the Bernese Oberland.
Yes, KRAABE high chairs are foldable. They can be set up and folded away within seconds, and stored behind any door, in a closet, or under the bed. Similar to other foldable products (strollers, travel cots), handling requires a bit of finesse. That’s why it’s important for customers to read the enclosed user manual before setting up the chair. In addition, a QR code is attached to the backrest of the chair, leading to the instruction video.
No. But the seat height has been carefully balanced to suit both toddlers and older children. The slightly lower seat position for toddlers makes it possible to slide the chair, even with the safety bar, under standard table heights. This allows children to learn from an early age to eat directly at the table.
No, the chair is suitable for both little ones (0–36 months) and older children (from around 3 up to about 7 years), until they can sit on “regular” chairs. No tools are needed to turn the high chair into a children’s chair. The safety bar can be removed and reattached within seconds. This means children of different ages can use the chair. Since the high chair grows with the child, it can be used much longer than many similar products.
The coated plywood surface and the oiled edges can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth. No cleaning agents are needed. It is important to remove liquid food residues immediately to prevent them from drying in.
The high chair has passed testing according to DIN EN standards 14988:2017 and 17191:2019. The oil used for the edges complies with EN standard 71, Part 3, meeting the strict requirements for the “Safety of Toys,” as well as DIN 53160 for “Resistance to perspiration and saliva.”
Like any other chair, the KRAABE high chair can tip over if used improperly. Therefore, toddlers should always be supervised so that an adult can intervene in time in case of tipping.
Yes. KRAABE high chairs are made of wood, specifically birch plywood. They are crafted with the utmost care in Thun. The wood is certified according to FSC Standard 40-004 v3.1 and meets the highest standard of the chain of custody. Find more information HERE.

Whether light or dark, in black, red, blue, orange, purple, green, or pink: the seat pad set is designed to add a splash of color to the high chair. In addition, the soft touch provides anti-slip protection and improves seating comfort for the child. The seat pads are made of cellular rubber. Each set includes one sticker for the backrest and one for the seat surface. To the shop.
The brand name is inspired by the raven, the largest European corvid. Ravens are considered among the most intelligent animals in the world: inventive, playful, and elegant. Inspired by this fascinating bird, KRAABE has made it its mission to rethink, reinterpret, and redesign everyday objects.
